Meet our Therapists
Miami Harm Reduction Psychotherapy was created by licensed therapists who have extensive experience in substance use and mental health treatment and have lost loved ones to the overdose crisis. Our therapeutic approach is based on the knowledge that human beings will always engage in behaviors that carry risks and respects a person’s right to make their own choices. This shifts the focus from attempting to restrict or prohibit risky behaviors to reducing the negative consequences associated with them. Substance use is explored as having a relationship with substances which offers you an opportunity to take a more open, safer look at the issues in your life that most concern you. Based on what you want to accomplish in treatment, we’ll help you figure out where and how to begin, and offer options for you to gain some traction so you can make progress on your own terms.

I received my Master's in Social Work from FIU in 2011 and have been providing substance use and mental health treatment to marginalized communities ever since. I have experience managing low-barrier residential treatment, diversion, supportive housing, and street outreach. I teach prevention, assessment, and treatment of addiction courses and I am a Qualified Supervisor for registered interns. I'm passionate about being of service to my community and eliminating stigma.
I received my Master's in Social Work at FIU in 2013 and my PhD in Social Work at Barry University in 2019, where I researched the lived experience of unsheltered homeIessness in the Health District. I have over a decade of experience working in inpatient psychiatric units, suicide prevention, and providing crisis intervention for our most vulnerable veterans, as well as training providers on best practices. I'm passionate about social justice and meeting people where they're at without judgment.
